Pokerstars Chip Rack

What poker rooms are supported?

Poker-Spy™ supports the popular poker rooms including PokerStars, Party Poker, Absolute Poker, Full Tilt Poker. You can see the complete list here.

What do I have to do to configure the software?

3 Easy Steps:

  • Configure your online poker room software to log the hand history to your hard drive and play one hand at that poker room. Make sure the files are logged in English if your poker rooms supports logging in multiple languages.
  • Start Poker-Spy™. It will detect what poker rooms have been installed on your computer and prompt you for the one you want to use.
  • Start playing poker!

Poker-Spy™ will begin monitoring the action as soon as you sit down at a table. Once Poker-Spy™ detects a completed hand (from the deal to the showdown), it will display the relevant information for each player in the hand.

Why doesn't the Game Tracker window appear when I am playing?

The Game Tracker uses hand history files generated by the poker room do analyse the players. Without those files the game tracker will not appear. Here are some things to check:

  • Did you start Poker-Spy™? (OK - We had to ask!). If not, you can do so by clicking Start | All Programs | Poker-Spy | Poker-Spy
  • Are you playing Texas Hold'em? Poker-Spy™ does not support other forms of poker such as 7 card stud and Omaha.
  • Is logging configured correctly for your poker room client? Follow the step by step instructions in the Poker-Spy™: Poker Room Selection dialog to verify your settings. You can also verify your settings from Poker-Spy™ by selecting View | System Information from the Poker-Spy™ Console window. Make sure the Logging Folder path is the same as the path configured in the poker room client.
  • Is the poker room logging the current game to disk? Some poker rooms do not log all games to disk. For example, Party Poker does not log WSOP tournaments. Check your poker room hand history folder to see if your table is being logged.

The Game Tracker window comes up but I do not get any detailed information on each hand. What's wrong?

  • Did you enter or select your Nickname correctly? If you do not enter your Nickname exactly like it is displayed at the poker table, Poker-Spy™ will not know who you are.
  • Are you playing any hands? Poker-Spy™ provides detailed hand information only for hands in which you are dealt cards.
  • Did you select the correct game type? When you start Poker-Spy™ make sure you select the game type you are playing (play or real money).
  • Note for PokerStars play money tournaments and Sit&Go’s: PokerStars does not provide enough information to determine if a Tournament or Sit & Go is real or play money. Poker-Spy™ therefore treats all tournaments and Sit&Go’s at PokerStars (Real and Play money) as real money games. To get around this problem when playing at play money tournaments and Sit&Go’s, select Real Money from the Poker-Spy™ Poker Room Selection window when playing in these types of games.

Why is the Automatic Calculator not appearing?

The Automatic Calculator window appears at the same time as the Game Tracker. If the Game Tracker is displayed but not the calculator, click the Calculator icon in the Game Tracker window to reopen the automatic calculator.

Why is the Automatic Calculator not picking up the cards?

In order for the Poker-Spy™ Calculator to pick up the cards the poker room table window needs to be at the default size. Here are the steps to reset the poker size for the different poker rooms:

PokerStars: Click on the Windows icon on the Dealer Chip Rack and select Reset to Default Size.

Full Tilt Poker: Click Layout then Back to Default Size in the top right corner of the Full Tilt Poker table window.

Absolute Poker: Click the D button below the Options chip tray in the Top View. Note: The Poker-Spy™ Calculator only supports the Absolute Poker Top View.

  • Select the Themes tab then select Switch Table just below the tab names.
  • Make sure the PartyPoker classic radio button is selected.
  • Click Save.

This is a discussion on Selling pokerstars play chips within the online poker forums, in the Poker Rooms section; I have seen sites that offer about $2.50 per 1 million play poker stars chips.

We'd been hearing about this one player in the field, Mickey Craft.

Had a lot of chips. Some great table talk, too. 'See him hit that gutterball on the river for a two-million pot?' someone asked.

They ought to put him on the feature table, was the word.

Okay, okay, we said. We don't have to be told five times. Let's check it out.

Hailing from West Virginia, Craft came into the day with a top 10 stack of 1.345 million, and through most of the first two levels was challenging for the chip lead. His tournament stats are on the modest side, although a final table and third-place finish in the $3,000 limit hold'em event this WSOP won by Max Silver already had Craft on some folks' radar before.

We arrived at Craft's table to see the tournament staff working on coloring up some of his yellow 1,000 chips, with one full rack sitting beside his stacks. As the staff walked away to retrieve chips for the exchange, Craft looked around with a sardonic look.

'I'll probably lose it before they get back,' he said, earning light chuckles at his end of the table.

When our photographer Jayne Furman visited his table in the Amazon a little earlier, the shot she'd gotten showed his chips in a bit of disarray then as well. A consequence of playing lots of pots, including big ones.

Mickey Craft

The blinds were 5,000/10,000 with a 1,000, and the next hand saw action fold to Jason Fitzpatrick of Houston, Texas in middle position who raised to 24,000. It folded around to Craft sitting to the dealer's right in the big blind. He looked across the table with a vaguely puzzled expression.

Chip

'Have you been here the whole time I have?' Craft asked. Again, light chuckles.

Fitzpatrick kept mum.

'You've been awful quiet,' said Craft, explaining to himself aloud why he might not have noticed his opponent before.

Craft carved out a reraise to 91,000, Fitzpatrick called, and the flop fell 9♦3♦4♠. Craft looked down at his chips, then slid the rack full of yellows out in front -- a bet of 100,000. There was some murmuring from others about such an unorthodox method of betting, but the dealer deftly slid the chips out in stacks, making the rack disappear as Fitzpatrick called the bet.

The turn was the 6♦, and Craft bombed again, this time more conventionally using green 25K chips for a bet of 350,000. Fitzpatrick thought a short while and called once more.

The river was the 2♦, putting a fourth diamond on the board. Craft carefully cupped his hands around all of his orange and yellow chips, about seven columns' worth, while keeping all his greens.

'They're gonna fall,' he said before sliding them ahead.

They made it to the middle without toppling over, and Craft pulled back his hands with a look of satisfaction at having managed the feat without making a mess of things.

Fitzpatrick tanked, brooding over the fact that Craft's bet was for around 520,000, and he had something close to 400,000 behind.

The ESPN cameras were trained on the table. Finally Fitzpatrick tossed a chip forward to call, and Craft tabled his hand -- A♦J♥.

He'd gotten there. Perhaps like that 'gutterball on the river.'

Fitzpatrick winced a little before standing up to go, and eventually his hand was shown, too -- T♥T♠. Another player left behind spoke of having experience playing with Fitzpatrick before.

'He had a read,' he surmised. 'I've played with that guy 15 years. I think he had a read and thought tens were good.'

Now more racks were needed, the columns of different colored chips dotting the felt all belonging to the bespectacled man in white. He's up around 2.6 million after that pot, now the clear chip leader heading into the day's second break with the clock showing 571 players.

If Mickey Craft asked us if we'd been there the whole time to witness his swingy, up-and-down day so far, we'd have to confess we have not.

But he strikes us as someone worth watching. They ought to put him on the feature table.
